League & CUs Focused on ADU Financing Hearing in Sacramento

Capitol building in Sacramento, CA

The California Assembly Banking and Finance Committee and the Assembly Housing and Community Development Committee will hold a joint informational hearing to learn more about Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) construction financing on Feb. 7 at 9:30 a.m.

You can live-stream the hearing virtually on that Monday morning. (If you cannot watch this hearing live, a recording will be archived on the Assembly website at https://www.assembly.ca.gov/media-archive).

The committees recognize the important role credit unions play in their communities as trusted financial institutions and extended an invitation to San Mateo CU to participate in the hearing.

The California Credit Union League is excited to announce that Trish Ellingson, senior vice president and chief lending officer at San Mateo CU, will participate as a panelist during the hearing! Ellingson will have the opportunity to share the story of San Mateo CU’s ADU financing product and answer questions from committee members.

Ellingson began her career in the savings and loan industry and has worked in banks, credit unions, and the mortgage broker industry for more than 32 years. Prior to working at San Mateo CU, she was vice president of real estate lending at Stanford FCU, Excite CU, and Valley Strong CU. She has managed mortgage sales and operations for GMAC Bank's mortgage division (now Ally Bank), where she originated both residential and construction loans, as well as also having experience as area sales manager for Citibank in the Northern California region.

The League would like to thank San Mateo CU for its leadership on this important topic. This will be a great opportunity for credit union voices to be heard, especially on these important discussions about finding solutions to the housing crisis in California.
