On Aug. 9, 130 golfers and 34 sponsors took to the links at the Monarch Beach Resort in Dana Point, CA to participate in the 2021 Richard Myles Johnson (RMJ) / Origence Annual Golf Classic—raising $80,000 for the state foundation for credit unions in California and Nevada.

In addition to Origence, the event’s title sponsor, other major sponsors were CO-OP Financial Services, CUNA Mutual Group, PSCU, SchoolsFirst FCU, Catalyst Corporate FCU, Educational Employees CU, and the California and Nevada Credit Union Leagues.

“We’re so grateful for all the support from our sponsors and golfers. It was a beautiful day on the course, and we were able to raise a good sum of money to support our Bite of Reality® program,” said RMJ Executive Director Tena Lozano.

The tournament’s winning group came from Manhattan Beach, CA-based Kinecta FCU: Ken Potter, Mike Lynch, Erik Jenner and Jeremy Morganegg. Potter even hit a hole-in-one! The second-place team hailed from Corporate America CU based out of Alabama and consisted of John Lorenzo, Johnny Lorenzo, and Tom Orman. And another team from Kinecta FCU (Marquis Boochee, Komal Ahmed, Joe Cohen, and Cody Handrich) came in third.
