Five CA, NV Credit Unions Win State-Level CUNA Awards

Five California and Nevada Credit Union Leagues member credit unions have won first place in the state-level 2021 Credit Union National Association (CUNA) Awards. These credit unions will advance to the national competition later this year.

In California, Travis CU won the Desjardins Youth Financial Education and the Desjardins Adult Financial Education awards (more than $1 billion asset category) for its financial empowerment of economically vulnerable youth and military/veteran financial wellness efforts, respectively. Downey FCU’s MoneySmart Jr. program won the Desjardins Youth Financial Education award in the $250 million to $1 billion asset category. San Diego County CU claimed first-place in the Dora Maxwell competition for its ‘Stuff the Bus’ campaign and Patelco CU’s ScoreUp Credit Builder Loan program won the Louise Herring award.

In Nevada, Greater Nevada CU won the Dora Maxwell award for its ‘Keys to Greater’, an initiative aimed at ending youth homelessness in Nevada.
