Last Week in 'Women's History Month' Spotlight: Diana Dykstra

Diana Dykstra, President and CEO of the California and Nevada Credit Union Leauges

The California and Nevada Credit Union Leagues are celebrating “Women’s History Month” this past March by wrapping up its spotlight series on one final amazing leader who has played a vital role in the history of American women and our movement. This week we would like to recognize Diana Dykstra, president and CEO of the Leagues in Ontario, CA!

In Dykstra’s more than 40 years within the financial services industry, she has distinguished herself as a dynamic leader, a strong advocate, and a visionary. Her extensive contributions have left behind a legacy of commitment to credit unions that have benefited — and will continue to benefit — the movement for many years to come.

Besides serving for the past 10 years as president and CEO of the Leagues, she has also has served as CEO of San Francisco Fire CU (SF Fire CU) and CoastHills CU. During her tenure as senior vice president at Golden 1 CU, she led her team to develop the prototype of the now-successful Credit Union Direct Lending (CUDL) program.

Her dedication to education has been exemplified by her certification as an international Credit Union Development Educator and her service as president of Western CUNA Management School (WCMS), as well as being a project reader and instructor at the school.

She is also a tireless advocate for credit unions in the legislative and regulatory realm. Additionally, her peers have thought so highly of her leadership skills and vision, she received both the WCMS James D. Likens Alumni Recognition Award in 2001 and the American Association of Credit Union Leagues’ (AACUL) Eagle Award in 2014.

We recognize Diana for being an influential voice in the credit union movement, as well as her rightfully deserved Herb Wegner Memorial Award for Outstanding Individual Achievement.

You can also view the Leagues' entire "Women's History Month" series through the individual stories of Patsy Van Ouwerkerk, Marla Shepard, and Sue Longson.

Thank you — Diana, Patsy, Marla and Sue — for all your hard work and commitment to credit unions over the years and during 2021's "Women’s History Month” this past March! Credit unions would not be where they are today without leaders like YOU!
