Nevada Leaders Discuss Positive CU Impact with State Officials

Nevada credit union leaders took the opportunity to participate in the virtual Nevada Government Relations Rally (GRR) this week to meet with state legislators, officials, and Nevada State Treasurer Zach Conine and discuss the industry's COVID-19 financial relief response to members, as well as the state's continuing economic recovery.

As virtual meetings spanned the entire week, the credit union message was well received. State legislators appreciated hearing the good work each credit union has been accomplishing within their communities, and they expressed their desire to ensure no legislative proposals would negatively impact the credit union movement.

The Nevada Credit Union League also created and sent out its first-ever Nevada GRR video, which spotlighted the credit union difference and was well-received by lawmakers and their staff.

There are still a handful of virtual gatherings taking place next week, including a meet-and-greet with Nevada Financial Institutions Division Commissioner Sandy O'Laughlin.

The Nevada League would like to extend a big "thank you" to all credit union leaders who participated in this virtual event! The League is looking forward to having its next lobby day in-person.
