California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA)

Are there any updates to the potential delay in the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) effective date?

Currently there is no indication that the CCPA effective date will be delayed. Credit unions should be prepared to be in compliance with CCPA as of July 1, 2020. However, on April 22, 2020 the League, along with the California Community Bankers Network, sent a letter to Governor Gavin Newsom requesting that he delay the implementation of the CCPA until Jan. 2, 2021. The League will keep credit unions informed if there is any change to the effective date.
