CA ‘Government Relations Rally’ Coming Soon: Register Today

California State Capitol building

The 2018 California Government Relations Rally (GRR) is just around the corner on April 9 – 10 in Sacramento! GRR is the most important state legislative event for state and federally-chartered credit unions in California. Register HERE today!

This year, leaders from credit unions and the California Credit Union League will be discussing three important topics with legislators and staff on April 10 during “lobby day” meetings: 1) SB 1055 (Newman)—Prize-Linked Savings Accounts; 2) AB 2862 (Limon)—credit union state charter Improvements; and 3) AB 2368 (Calderon)—remote “webcam” notarization. All three bills are supported by the League and enhance credit union industry operations and consumer options throughout the state. Detailed talking points and background material on these topics will be provided to attendees ahead of GRR.

We also have some exciting programming planned for Monday, April 9:

  • 1 – 3 p.m.: Roundtable with California Department of Business Oversight (DBO) Commissioner Jan Owen and Deputy Commissioner Caitlin Sanford (CEOs, board members and executive staff invited).
  • 1 – 3 p.m.: (for all other attendees) Community Advocacy Training, and 2018 Election Update by Matt Klink (Matt is the owner and president of Klink Campaigns with more than 25 years of political campaign, strategic communications and public affairs experience).
  • 3:15 – 5 p.m.: “Making Your Message Memorable” with Anthony Huey (Anthony is president of Reputation Management Associates and specializes in media training, speech coaching and crisis consulting).
  • 5 – 7 p.m. Attendees reception at Mayahuel.

At GRR you can join fellow advocates to show legislators the importance and strength of credit unions in their districts. But we can’t do it without you! With voices like yours we have been successful in moving legislation forward in recent years, including elder financial abuse legislation, consumer protections in Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE), and others. Sign up today and we will see you in April!
