The 2017 California Government Relations Rally (GRR) is the most important state legislative event for credit unions in California—and it’s less than three weeks away.
Last year during this crucial event for state advocacy, credit union leaders advocated for an update to the California state charter, consumer protections for PACE lenders (Property Assessed Clean Energy), and unclaimed property reform. We need your help to achieve similar successes in 2017! Click here to register for the California GRR.
From April 3-4 you can join fellow advocates in the California state capitol to educate the 31 newly-elected legislators on the importance of credit unions in their districts. Attendees will also be lobbying on housing-related legislation and elder financial abuse prevention.
As is always the case in the state capitol, the environment can change at a moment’s notice and legislation can move fast. We will provide all attendees with up-to-the-minute briefing materials on all issues prior to GRR.
“Attending GRR is crucial to supporting the credit union cause, and is your best opportunity to let legislators know how legislation impacts your credit union and your members,” said Courtney Jensen, vice president of state government affairs for the California Credit Union League. “These crucial issues in Sacramento impact your credit union, whether you are state or federally chartered.”
